Kick-off for construction activities on the Danish converter station

On Monday 10th August 2020 Energinet held a kick-off event for the construction activities of Revsing Converter Station in Vejen. The converter station is part of the 1,400-MW interconnector between Denmark and the UK - called Viking Link. The interconnector is scheduled for commissioning in late 2023.

The soil-turning ceremony was performed by Energinet’s board chairman, Lars Barfoed and the mayor of Vejen District Counsel, Egon Fræhr. In addition, a number of partners and local residents also took part in the celebration.

Immediately after the event the civil contractor M J Eriksson started the ground works at the site. The first step is to build the new access road to the site. These construction activities are some of the first major milestones in the project on Danish side.
