National Grid announces £850 million Viking Link investment

On the 8^th November, National Grid confirmed £850 million investment in the Viking Link interconnector. The project will be a 50/50 joint venture between National Grid and Energinet, who approved their share of the investment in 2017.

Work is ongoing to allow National Grid and Energinet to enter into contracts for the construction and installation of the interconnector in 2019. This is subject to successfully achieving all of the required consents and licences.

Viking Link is scheduled for completion in 2023.
